Overview
Basic Requirements
The Canadian government offers a program for skilled workers looking to settle in Canada.
To apply to the Skilled Worker Program, you must work in an occupation that requires a specific skill set. You must also be able to prove that you have at least one year of work experience in this skilled labour position.
*Keep in mind that these are just a few of the case specific factors.
Each applicant is score on a 110-point grid. This grid is based on how well you score in the following 6 categories,

- work experience
- whether you have a valid job offer
- English and/or French language skills
- adaptability (how well you’re likely to settle here)

Each of these categories also includes a further breakdown of how the points are distributed and marked.
After Meeting Basic Requirements
If you pass the minimum required score, we can continue to the next steps. At this point its time to gather all of the supporting documents, and begin to submit your profile.

After gathering this information, we fill out your profile and submit it to your case officer. In addition, we also keep in close contact with this officer to supply them with any additional information they may need. It’s important that this information is communicated promptly, as this can effect your processing time.

Processing Time
Processing time for the Skilled Workers Programs is usually around 6 months. However, due to Covid-19 and its strain on government resource allocation, processing times maybe be longer than usual. We recommend contacting us for the most up to date information, as the situation is rapidly evolving.
